AKlectic Company welcomes artists of all mediums. The company compiles arts and craftworks, covers all overhead expenses, promotes, and sells works at various arts and crafts shows in Bloomington/Normal IL. The company is run by Amreen and exists to support local artists and aid the artists in the business of the field.

The company currently consists of eight artists from Bloomington/Normal and the surrounding areas. Arts and crafts include acrylic and oil paintings, water color paintings, framed lithographs, photography, published poetry, hand-stitched purses and bags, hand-made glass beads, and hand-crafted bookmarks.

AKlectic Company has had a booth at the Farmer's Market/Artist's Alley in Downtown Bloomington for the past two years. Other venues that the company partook in include the Miller Park Arts & Crafts Show and Thanksgiving Market at the US Cellular Coliseum.

AKlectic Company is now going online to offer artists a chance to display and promote their works to a greater audience. The website includes the artists' biographies on the 'About the Artists' page, artists' compiled works on the 'Art Market' page with links to artist specific art market pages, and artists' contact information on the 'Contacts' page.

There is also the opportunity to join AKlectic Company online with the information request form on the 'Join the Company' page. The company website also supports independent artists and artisans, local businesses and musicians on the 'Related Links' page with advertisements. Upcoming events and shows for the company will be advertised through the website with special announcements and emailings to website guests.

Amreen has been a long time supporter of the local arts and music scene in Bloomington/Normal. Having worked in the music business as a Sound Engineer and Musician for many years, she focussed on all aspects of the music scene. Aside from playing live venues, she coordinated open mics, booked bands, promoted live music venues and CD releases, at various locations downtown and uptown Bloomington/Normal. Her goal was to bring the local music scene up from the underground and to the awareness of B/N residents and to attract audiences to shows.

Now Amreen is focussing mainly on the local arts scene. Being an artist herself, she is working to promote local artists as well as the many art galleries and venues in Bloomington/Normal. She is also trying to stress the importance of art in communities and schools; art includes literary works, fine arts, and crafts.

Amreen created and hosts the AKlectic Company website. Her art portfolio includes mixed acrylic paintings, photography, and poetry.
